YOGA + FITNESS SERIES

Our yoga and fitness series provide you with the chance to dive deeper into a specific aspect of your yoga practice and new opportunities to enhance your fitness experiences. As a family-focused fitness center we offer a wide range of body-positive and unique yoga and fitness series designed with young families in mind. Class this winter and spring include: Prenatal Yoga, Prenatal Fitness, Mom + Baby Yoga, Mom + Baby Fitness, Yoga Sculpt, Yoga Wall, and Yoga Mama. We welcome you to meet and connect with other active families at our clean and bright studio!

YOGA SCULPT CLASSES

Yoga Sculpt at Free Spirit

Challenge your mind and body in these upbeat classes that fuse the mindful approach of yoga with the physical benefits of strength training, kicking your yoga practice up a notch! Classes incorporate light dumbbell exercises to strengthen and tone every major muscle group while boosting your metabolism. Enjoy the momentum you generate from a weekly practice and the positive experience it provides. See impressive results by dedicating to six weeks of yoga and strength training! Please bring your yoga mat, a towel and a water bottle.

MOM + BABY FITNESS CLASSES

Mom and Baby Fitness Classes at Free Spirit

Mommas bring your babies for specifically designed fitness routines and stretches empowering you in your journey to newfound fitness during your first year postpartum. Be guided through bodyweight movements and safe techniques for proper core work as we rebuild your foundation for whole-body fitness. Plus, we will go outside (weather permitting) with strollers for end of class fitness fun in the beautiful Old Mill District! Please come with a well-fitting baby carrier, be at least six weeks postpartum and have clearance from your care provider that you are ready for weight bearing exercise.

MOM + BABY YOGA CLASSES

Mom and Baby Yoga Classes at Free Spirit

Join other moms and babies for this special yoga series. During classes you will flow from pose to pose to help tone, stretch and strengthen your body while releasing tension, especially in your neck and shoulders. Plus, we will work to properly strengthen abdominal and back muscles to reduce postpartum back pain, while including movements and songs with babies. Spend quality time bonding with your baby while also hanging out with other moms with little ones! As a series each week we will build on the previous week's class. This is a great chance to meet other moms with littles!

PRENATAL FITNESS CLASSES

Prenatal Fitness Classes at Free Spirit

The benefits of prenatal exercise are profound, from improving your mental well-being to reducing your risk of gestational diabetes to potential improved lung function in babies! Learn safe ways to continue or begin a fitness routine during pregnancy using a variety of equipment, including dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands and TRX. These classes will help expectant moms improve the function of the pelvic floor, maintain or gain strength and muscle mass, develop a solid aerobic foundation and help you feel strong and happy in your body. Plus make new friends and enjoy the benefits of being a part of an active community!

PRENATAL YOGA CLASSES

Prenatal Yoga Class at Free Spirit

Rejuvenate, relax and recharge as we move, breath and build community with other expectant moms! You’ll reduce common pregnancy discomforts and tensions, prepare your body for birth, improve your postpartum recovery and bring mindfulness to your daily life. Gain the strengthening benefits of a yoga flow class as well as the wonderful feeling of releasing tensions through supported restorative poses. We’ll focus on important muscle groups, including pelvic floor muscles, while using specific prenatal yoga movements to increase circulation, helping you sleep better at night. Refuel your energy and bring more contentment and joy to your life by moving the body and socializing with other pregnant mamas! All levels and stages of pregnancy are welcome.

YOGA WALL CLASSES

Yoga Wall Classes at Free Spirit

Join us for this unique opportunity to experience the Yoga Wall in-person. Often described as the mother of all props, the Yoga Wall is an incredible yoga tool that improves alignment, takes you deeper into poses, elongates the spine, re-aligns the pelvis and releases the hips. Plus the Yoga Wall allows you to invert safely without placing pressure on your neck, shoulders or wrists. Each week we’ll focus on different areas: the upper back, lower back, neck, shoulders, hips and pelvis. Yoga sequences and breathwork will connect each area of the body with different, subtle body energetics (Chakras and Vayus). Flowing yoga sequences on your mat as well as time on the Yoga Wall will increase your strength and flexibility while connecting your mind, body, and spirit. All levels are welcome.
